Shopping Eating and Having Fun in Hong Kong - Part 8-1
One of the nice things about living in Hong Kong is that it is very close to a suite of Asia places that you can visit. With airplane, you can visit Japan, Thailand, Singapore, etc. etc. Traveling by sea, you can visit Macau!
Here is the "tunnel" to the TurboJet ship station.
The pier is location in central, you can get there by using the MTR and exit the central station.
Besides, Macau, you can go to different places in China as well.
The waiting room ... most people gets to the waiting room just minutes before the boat leaves.
Here is "the" small tunnel that will get you onboard of the boat. Yes, it is crowded and don't expect cruise type of services. It is like ... traveling by bus.
The outside actually looks pretty good.
When you get to Macau, you have to go through immigration. Check out the no photo sign on the wall ... I did not see that when I take the pic.
Macau is all about gambling. In fact, there are two types of free casino buses you can board when you get off the pier. The ones that are waiting for you to carry you directly to the inside of the casino. Or the ones that you have to call and wait for 15 min or so to pick you up to checkin to the hotel. Most people go directly to the casinos and gamble right off the boat ...
We actually check in to Grand Lisboa, which is the new version of the original Casino Lisboa in Macau.
The casino and restaurants within Grand Lisboa were opened on February 11, 2007, while the hotel was opened in December 2008. The casino offers 268 mass gaming tables and 786 slot machines. The hotel contains 430 hotel rooms and suites. The casino is the first in Macau to offer Texas hold 'em poker ring games. It was also the first to offer craps, though several other casinos in Macau now offer the game.
We were there earlier and the nice checkin lady said that it will be a while before the hotel rooms are ready.
We are hungry, so we just go into the first restaurant that is opened :)
The chinese northern style dim sum is great. However, the services and environment are D-. Anyway, it looks like a fake 鼎泰豐 in macau.
Anyway, back to the hotel to check out the lobby before going to the room.
Yes, they have pretty girls manning the mini stores.
Finally, the room is ready. Grand Lisboa is a 5 stars hotel. So, the the room is great. A suite (room) around christmas is about $300 or so.
Nice executive desk with B&O equipment.
Watching tv when you are washing your face ...
Watch more tv when you are doing your popo ...
Of course, the spa bath.
And the rainforest style shower.
Young kids mostly care about jumping from one bed to another ...
All the electronic are Bang & Olufsen. The remote is so heavy that it will kill you when you kids throw at you for fun.
