AOD 2011 - Part 1
It is AOD time again! This extremely cool and fan friendly con rolling into San Francisco again in Feb 2011. Animation on Display (AOD) is a weekend celebration of Japanese animation, video games, recent American cartoons, and their related interests. AOD 2011 takes place in the heart of San Francisco's Japantown over President's Day Weekend. We are happy to see our cosplayer friends again! Sat is the first day of AOD and it is a test for the fans. It rains ALL DAY non-stop. It rains more and more as the day goes by. However, more and more people keep showing up. AOD seems to be able to create a real friendly environment and people love coming to AOD even though it rains cats and dogs outside.
By the registration area, artists are selling their goodies.
Hard at work on painting ...
One piece character just outside of the dealer's room.
Here is the dealer's room this year.
A good selection is available.
... with nice looking sales lady ...
This is the biggest booth on the side of the dealer room.
I remember I got a PG wing gundam for $125 years ago. The latest addition PG freedom will kick your wallet for $350 ... if you give one to me, I will post a tutorial like I did for my zaku ...
Two days of selling to fans.
Yes. You look good and I come back for more pics :)
The traffic at registration picks up after 4pm or so.

I want to go to swap meet but have to come home ... probably try to rent a room next year and bring the kids.
Nice pink lady. What is the character? From a game?
